British Studies in the Delaware Valley

Welcome to the website of the Delaware Valley British Studies seminar! As scholars of British studies based in or near the Delaware Valley, we’ve been meeting in one form or another for over thirty years, to read, learn from, and improve our research on Britain, the British Empire, and the British world, broadly defined and across different disciplinary approaches and periods of history.

This website has a few simple goals: first and foremost, to make the “DelValBritStudies” seminar a little easier for interested people to find, find out about, and join; second, to announce our upcoming events (and keep a record of past ones); and third, over the longer term, to help connect, build, sustain, and publicize the work of a community of scholars in the region at a time of unprecedented political and fiscal challenges to scholarship.

For the moment, we’ll keep it simple: events will be listed on the Events page, and you can contact us with questions, suggestions, or to join by submitting your email address and a message on the Contact page.
